My apologies Pietro, we had to do a database restore an hour ago and I lost your recent comment on the P6 Pro, I am reposting it under the P6 Pro post with my reply as I had saved it on word. You can take it from there.

Unfortunately, the N8 we had was a loaner and some years ago also so anything I could add would be purely from memory. I see no reason why the N8 would not be a good match for the VE monitors given how well the original performed for vocals and how good the low-end is on the EXT. However, I advise waiting a few weeks on the N8 decision and see what comes up in the news from Cayin ;)

If Cayin’s approach here is something like their c9, I expect this would sound very good paired with dynamic driver hybrids like the VE Elyseum, and EXT. Is that your opinion as well? I am looking for a special DAP, contemplating an N8 or perhaps a p6 Pro. Thanks again for the review and for your time.

That’s won’t happen easily. If you press the power button accidentally the screen displays a pop-up message that you need to confirm. If the player is off you need to make a 6 second long press to reboot it.

The case is beautiful, but seriously obstructs behavior of some of the functions, such as the POWER BUTTON, which shows Updater rather than the menu, and HOME/RETURN which will only show the menu. The touch screen works in the case, but the Power Button and the HOME/RETURN buttons do not.

But this product has some problem. For example, side buttons are easy to rust, floated back panel.
And it’s the most, Sleep button can’t push anything… Please fix it;;

With the N8 tube output it is a lot warmer, slightly softer and slightly slower but still optimal in terms of staging. I have a slight preference for balanced and solid state for the LCDi4 out of the N8 just to give the mids a bit more zip and I also tweak the EQ on the N8 to push forward the vocals a little more but thats my own preferences.
