M17 will give it more power in balanced, by some distance so dynamics staging dimensions will improve considerably. The rest is just down to timbral differences and preference.

I have both the Hugo2 and M17 with Tidal, Roon and my library of ripped CDs. To my ears the Hugo2 has the edge ever so slightly but isn’t as transportable as the M17. I use Hifiman Arya (Stealth), Audeze LCDXC, Sony IER-Z1R and Shure 846.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the questions.

1. Yeah I think any driver that has a good bass response is going to benefit from the M17’s power.
2. Without too much thinking, FiiO M17, HiBy r8 but my personal fav is the LP P6 Pro in how it really teases out the texture in the bass.
3. Probably HiBy 5 or the Cayin N3 Pro.
