HA-2SE gives a little more mids emphasis, bit more weight behind the midrange instruments on the low-end. The DAC in the Euterpe is cleaner and slightly more treble presence. Mind you, ultimately depends on the DAC behind it. A good quality DAC with a decent line out voltage will deliver something more immersive.

How does the soundstage and imaging compare, between Auris HA-2SE and Euterpe?

Amazing sound in a beautifully space-saving package

Heard this at Canjam NYC 2020 and was wowed. This amp made me fall in love with tubes (using a Violectric V280 at home). If it was being sold at a trade show discount I probably would have bought it on the spot.

Tried it with Meze Empy’s and HFM Arya’s and it excelled with both. Loved the smooth, gooey tube sound I was hearing from female vocals as well as the overall clarity of the instruments. Will keep me eye on this for a future purchase.

Most interesting part is a possibility to use this with lower than 64 Ohm’s impedance headphones which is unique thing for tube amplifier all do recommendation stil stays at 64 Ohm’s as a minimum if you ask me. The engineering side of design is disappointing considering the price only bring side is a big hi quality Japanese potentiometer. The old ES9018 DAC may not be the newest one but it’s a first one regarding SABRE’s still relevant design & it’s performance is actually still good enough. Step up would be a ES9038PRO which has a paper 12 dB SNR advantage in practice this ended up about 5 which is actually nice and hear able (under very rare conditions as good ES9018 implantation reaches 116~117 dB SIMD while stellar SE9038PRO goes whooping 19
121 dB). I do think SABRE DAC in as possible neutral implementation regarding tonality is a best choice for pairing to anything tube or hybrid like where tube will add its tonal characters. As usual tubes need upgrade. For the price it’s a letdown. For less money you can buy full balanced DAC and amp component along with great tubes and decent XLR cable’s which will run around this in circles tho it won’t look even close so nice like this.
