Hi Jim. I think there’s two factors to consider here because fidelity wise both are great setups. One is the convenience of having to carry just one unit. But if you plan on using headphones that are hard to drive then the obvious choice is an IPhone or an Android with the Signature series. Second, power output wise, both combos are worlds apart. So if you wanna carry just one unit and the DX300 power has enough for the headphones you wanna use then done deal. But the Signature series is a monster with lots of power but it’s more bulky and is designed more as a desktop replacement DAC amp plus battery life is not that stellar especially if you use inneficient headphones. One last thing , very important. I have not verified compatability with Apple products and the Signature. So I would make sure. Sorry I can’t do that for cause I’m an Android user. Hope this helps.

Hi Jason, that would be difficult to assess as we review products as and when they come out and this one is less than a year old so we cannot inform you if it is good beyond one year or not until we get there ourselves. This might be better positioned directly to iFi and ask them about their rate of returns for the hipdac.

Hi Jona unfortunately I do not have the mojo here to compare directly. I could probably elaborate some on the iDSD Signature. The mojo might have a slightly cleaner sound but lacks power compared to the signature. If you haven’t tried iFi’s Xbass then you’re in for a treat because to me it’s the best around and you might like all the features of the signature and it might work best for you because of that.

We also have the Diablo and it will be reviewed soon by me and I’ll tell you upfront, it doesn’t have an analog input either.

Thanks for the review and thanks for clearing up that detail, though I’m disappointed and was hoping that I was wrong and you were right! I end up using this feature often enough with my Black Label iDSD that I don’t think I’d be able to trade it in on the Signature. Maybe I’ll opt to check out the Diablo instead.

Hi Adam. I pulled out the iDSD signature and tried to connect a 3.5mm line in from a phone and the plug fits but you are right and I was wrong. I swore the feature was carried over to this model. I will try to retract that section and two things, one is sorry and the other is thanks for pointing it out. We are human and not perfect here. One thing is for certain I will never assume anything anymore.
