Awesome Andrew, you will enjoy this amp a lot, especially if you have headphones with different impedance levels. The impedance selector really helps a lot in fleshing out the range of a few of my tougher to drive cans.

I’m in the process of fixing it myself. ( since I purchased second hand, the US auth. Dealer won’t touch it, even if I pay for it.) HP8 The point to point wiring is very good, but there are better examples out there, which worries me for the future of the second one I purchased from authorized dealer new. It already was notably quieter with higher dynamic range and no odd occasional RF interference, along with much better channel balance. Very satisfying but again, always climbing the ladder.

So I’m looking to upgrade ( and want out of the 6SN7 chasing game.) I also happen to have about 200 nicely testing all the way to true orig. shrink wrap sealed 12AU7 and related types, even early RCA from 1948 (I even found one of the originals from 1947!!!) Tube collecting became a real sickness, kind of like gambling or something :)

Anyway the above amp may be the ticket. I have all the ECC82 in the world to try, and the PL95 will probably be one of the types just just don’t find the actual variety to make rolling worth it, or so it seems.

Time to sell some ECC83 to make some change and get a new amp!! (Anybody want some true NOS original box 1948 RCA 12AX7? Hehe)

Sorry I cannot be of more help. However, I can tell you end of March at CanJam where I can test both but not sure if you can wait that long.

Thanks again for a great review :)
