So long as your streamer has a dedicated analog output and passes the signal via a DAC to be converted into an analog signal in either dual RCA or balanced 3-pin XLR then it should be compatible with the HA-300mk2. A phone won't cut it and not sure what you have for your desktop setup to advise on that aspect. You can look at the Cyrus Audio One Cast as a good all-in-one solution for streaming.

Hi, just pre-ordered 1 based on this review (great review btw!). Quick question (I am a total newbie), should I get a dedicated streamer/DAC to use with this? Or do I just go with my desktop/phone? If I should get a streamer, can anyone help recommend 1 in <$2000 range? Thank you in advance.

Owning an Auris Nirvana, which amp do you feel more complimentary to it: the Envy or the ha-300 mk2?

For some speakers, you will not need a pre-amp or power amp as it can be connected directly to speakers via binding posts to the rear and give you up to 8W to both channels for speakers up to 8Ω impedance. There is a little switch at the front to flick between speaker output and headphone output.

Since the HA-300MK2 doesn’t have a preamp as stated in your review, does that mean that I would need a preamp if I want to drive my speakers with it? I have high sensitivity (102dB), 8 ohm speakers that I think would pair well with this amp. I have a vacuum tube preamp that I could use with this amp if needed for speakers.

In reply to MJ. My unit is a 220-240 unit but that was on request. If you buy from somewhere like Musicteck then it will be configured for the US market so 110-115. I would always ask and make sure before you buy.

Sometimes these units are two 220–240 and they don’t tell you. You don’t figure it out until they arrive. But my household is one110–115. Thanks MJ
