Hi and thank you. My experience with the original is so limited and brief that I couldn’t really be accurate with my impressions. From what I recall, the older Lambada models were not as wide feeling, nor as warm feeling. They were more like the 007 MKI (not the MKII).
Beyond that, I could not say more on it as I don’t recall the fidelity factor enough to judge properly.

I can tell you that the odds are good that the new model is nicely improved and tweaked over the previous models. I asked this question to Stax and they told me is certainly is of a higher fidelity factor across the board, of course. But how much, I couldn’t say because I don’t have the original models to compare :[

But, despite that…I find the LK700MKII to perform very well for the price, and that musical tone is addictive.

Nice review and thank you! My only question is my Stax set up is the original L-700 mated to the SRM-007tII. How far off the new benchmark just set by the L-700mk2 / 700T am I if any?Audio neuroses is making me ask.
Cheers,
Dean
