Thanks Dev!
Gosh I am quite random with my tracks but some of the ones I like to pull out might surprise you but its usually because they have certain things in the recording that can help me understand the performance of the gear.
For example Ariana Grande’s “34+35” track is quite a sibilant recording, The Weeknd’s “Blinded lights” has excellent dynamic range and a nice test of bass and vocals.
For sub-bass I always use The Encounter – “Bad Mood” and throw in the 72 Seasons album from Metallica for lower-mids and vocal presence as well as percussion timbre. The last for soundstage and background noise is Peter Gabriel’s “I/O” album, anything from FKA Twigs and Morgan Willis’s “Miami Calling” album.
There are a ton more I use but not as frequent as the above.
Hope that helps!
]]>I was actually wondering if you have ever posted your test tracks anywhere? I have been looking at some other peoples test tracks, and then realised that I would like to hear yours more than anyone else’s as youre probably the most prolific reviewer I know of.
Keep up the good work!
